You’re doing your social media plan for the month (I know you do it because you’re fab like that), and you’re thinking of what content to include, where do you get your inspiration from?

Of course, as you know, there are a number of things you can focus on, for example:

  • Awareness Days
  • Behind the scenes
  • Industry updates
  • Products
  • Special offers

Well here’s another one for you. You can ask (and answer) questions. And that’s what I’ve been doing this month.

Now, I’m not talking about any old question, like where are you from (Leeds), what’s your favourite colour (green), do you like cats (erm, yeah, obvs)? I’m talking about those questions that once answered can offer your audience some value. Here are some that might help you:

Q: Can social media marketing really help my business?


Just think of it this way, if you don’t tell anyone about yourself, that you exist, what you do, what you can do for them, how are they going to know about you?

You can show YOU as well. Show your personality, increase the likelihood of getting new clients and more sales because of know, like and trust.

And you can ‘meet’ some amazing people from all over the world.

And it’s FREE!

Q: Which social media platform is best for your business?

A: You know, I think a huuuuge factor is where your audience is hanging out.

You will have a target audience for your business, the kind of people you want to sell to because you have the ‘fix’ to their pain points.

You HAVE to be where they are, otherwise they will NEVER see you.

There’s no point posting tons of content on LinkedIn if your audience is firmly settled in Instagram.

Q: What does social media marketing cost?

A: Well, for the most part it’s totes free!!

You might want to pay for Facebook ads, or a social media manager; but having a Facebook page, Instagram business account, LinkedIn profile or business page etc is totally free (for now anyway).

You will have to spend time on it though.

My suggestion to you then, is the next time you’re sitting down to plan your social media posts, think of 4 questions that you can answer and create 4 posts around them.
